Marnetta has worked in various positions at child care centers in the Shreveport/Bossier area, as well as having operated an award-winning family home child care business. Her work with young children earned her recognition as Child Care Provider of the Week, showcased on PBS’s program “A Place of Our Own”. She was honored the next year as one of 17 providers from across the country selected as a National Child Care Provider at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. She uses those years of experience in her position as a Family Child Care Technical Assistant and Trainer at NSU Child and Family Network.

Marnetta's job includes traveling across the central and northwestern area of the state to registered family child care homes and centers to provide assistance with licensing regulations, marketing, child care assistance requirements, and to provide help and support as needed. She also conducts training in all areas of early childhood development, best practices, and business management.

Marnetta is a graduate of Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
